We miss you babe xo

Last week... counting the days

Back to Geraldton

We only got 45kms north of Geraldton before we had to turn back. Tim was offered some work in Alice Springs so he jetted off while the kids and I put down roots for three weeks. We have done a few day trips; up to Kalbarri, down to Greenough and just tripping around town enjoying the sun and school holidays. Greenough has an old historic site with lots of old buildings to explore but we were mostly entertained by a llama that thought it was a dog... it was hilarious! Oh and if you are wondering what Geraldton is famous for, its the wind. The trees are testament to how strong and often it blows.

Geraldton

We spent a few days in Geraldton looking around. The foreshore is beautiful and I was pretty excited to see the treasures from the Batavia including a long boat replica! We then spent three lazy days at a bush camp just north of Geraldton, Tim fished and kayaked, the kids swam and we spotted a dugong. It was so lovely but crazy to think two weeks later a four metre Great White was thrashing in the shallows with a seal stuck in its throat! You can see the article and video here... there are sharks in these waters!! (Luckily we have light sabres ready.)

Jurien Bay

North, north, north we go, its getting cold and we can hold out no more. We headed up Indian Pacific Drive and called in to see the Pinnacles (which we nearly forgot were there). They certainly are impressive and the kids loved running around and trying to jump them. We then spent a few nights at a beautiful beach camp right on the beach with huge sand dunes behind us. What a lazy couple of days with more gorgeous coastline.

Perth and Fremantle

We spent a day in Perth visiting the Museum in the morning and the beautiful Kings Park in the afternoon. It is such an awesome park with great views and lots of really different areas. The kids loved the huge dragon and he was very fitting with their current obsession with Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The next day we walked around Fremantle and had a beautiful lunch on the water... Yum!

Walpole and The Valley of the Giants

Tree, trees and more amazing, enormous trees! Tim and I came to Walpole on our honeymoon and were keen to come back. The weather was very wet and wild and cold but the trees didn't mind and were just as amazing as last time. The kids loved the tree top walk and just exploring the forest.
